Unable to Install Update | An error occurred installing iOS 16 or Any iOS | 8 fixes


If you’re trying to install an iOS 16 beta  or iPadOS 16 beta software update and face a failure error “Unable to Install” with an option to Retry or Remind Me Later. Don’t worry, this is a common error faced by several users, can be solved easily.

 

An Error “Unable to Install” is not limited to iOS 16. It can happened with any iOS or iPadOS. It is typically only experienced when trying to update through the setting App.

All Causes with Solutions

 

1. UnSupported Device

Firstly, Check iOS 16 supported device’s list. If you have an older device, you will not be able to install iOS16. It supports iPhone 8 or later

 

2. Below 50% battery

You might be unable to install any iOS  if your iPhone’s battery is below 50%. Put your iPhone on charge and try to install the update again.

 

3. Unstable internet

No internet can be the reason of this Error "Unable to Install Update". Check your internet connection and Try Again to install

 

4. Insufficient free space

Make sure that you have enough free storage space available on your iPhone. Delete unused files and Apps to free up some space and Try again to install.

 

5. Junk files and minor glitches

Restart your idevice. A restart helps clear all junk files and minor glitches.

1.     Press and hold the volume and side buttons until the power-off slider appears.

2.     Drag the slider to the right and wait for your iPhone to turn off.

3.     Turn it back on after 2 Min .

4.     After restart, try again to install.

 

6. Poor Network Connection

Poor network connection can be cause of this Error "Unable to Install Update". Reset Network settings and Try again to install

                       

1.     Open the Settings app and navigate to General.

2.     Now tap Reset > Reset Network Settings.

3.     After Reset try installing the update again

 
7. Corrupted Firmware

Firmware gets corrupted if the update process has been interrupted by Lack of sufficient free space and poor network connection. Delete incomplete update and try again to download and intall

 

1.     Open  Settings and go to General.

2.     Tap on iPhone/iPad Storage.

3.     Look for the update file and tap on it and delete it.

4.     Now go back and try installing the update again

 

8. Last Solution (100% works)

If none of the above solutions worked for you, try updating your iPhone using a PC. It is a very efficient way of installing the iOS update on your iPhone.

1.     Download IPSW file ( Signed file : ipsw.me or Beta file : betaprofiles.com )

 

2.     Download and install the latest version of 3utools on your PC.

3.     Open 3utools  and plug in your device. If prompted‚, tap ‘Trust this computer’ on your iPhone.

4.     Go to Smart Flash Tab.         

5.     Click on Import and Select Downloaded IPSW file

6.     Select Retain User DATA and Click on Flash
